Final Educational Technology Philosophy 10 I spent some time developing my philosophy of education and feel as though I was successful in updating and adding to what I developed several years ago. I added a section on how I incorporate technology in the classroom.
Artifacts/evidence of the technologies/projects you've created with reflections/statements 9.5 I took off half a point here. I learned many new things this semester that I feel improved my ability to be a successful librarian. However, I did not take the time to write a reflection for each artifact that was developed in this course. The reflections can be seen on my blog (the three posts before this one).
Empirically-based research supporting the utilization/effectiveness of particular technology per each artifact. 9.5 I took off half a point here as well. I added a few articles that relate to what I have learned in the class. I did not add an article for each artifact. The three articles can be seen on my web page or eportfolio.
Blog link 10 I did not have a problem creating and personalizing my blog. I enjoyed this tool and feel as though it is a good tool for anyone to use.
Self-assessment 9 I took off a point on creating a rubric. Rubrics are great, but they can take a lot of time to make. So, I just took a rubric I found online and modified it. I have given credit to the original creator, though. I used my rubric to give myself a grade for this course.
My total: 48/50
I am not perfect. I did not reflect or find an article for every artifact that I created in this course(just three each). I also did not spend a great deal of time making a rubric. I learned many new objectives about technology, applied what I learned and now know a lot more about technology applications. I will take what I have learned and share it with those around me.

Electronic Portfolio
What
As a professional prepares to enter an interview for a job, they should have a collection of artifacts reflecting what they have learned in their studies. It is a growing trend to have a portfolio in an electronic format instead of a paper format. The artifacts can be viewed online through a webpage, blog, or other program supported by the internet. By having an electronic portfolio, the viewer understands your ability to manage a computer and also get to know more about you.
So What
I considered several options when I was asked to create an eportfolio. I tried a program that I had to subscribe to, I leared how to use my blog account as an eportfolio, but I found that creating a web page was the best option for me. I like the fact that I can incorporate my professional and personal life in one page. I can insert pictures and create links to various artifacts. A person viewing my web site can learn more about what I like to do in my free time, learn more about my studies, and view my resume.
Now What
I plan to add more to my web page. I am taking a class next month and will add what I have learned. I will also try to add my lesson plans and newsletters in the fall. It will be a challenge to maintain the website often. I will share what I have learned with my colleagues and the parents of my students.

When a college student prepares to become a teacher they will be required to develop a philosophy of education after learning about children and how to meet their needs. Based on research there are different views in how a teacher manages the learning that goes on in the classroom. The philosophy of education helps students and parents understand how the teacher views learning and developing into a successful student.
So What
I created a philosophy of education in my last year in my undergraduate studies. At the time, it was appropriate for me as a new teacher. Blogging is a great way for an individual to journal and share their lives with a particular audience. It is a free service and can be used privately or shared with others. The writer can edit or delete the posting as they choose. A person reading a blog can make a comment as well. Bloglines in a way for people to have access to their favorite people’s blog address. A blogline requires an additional free account. If a person wishes to share their lives with others by way of letter or email, blogging is a great and free tool for them to use.
So What
I signed up for a blog and blogline account as required by a class I am taking. It was easy to set up and easy to use. I am usually not the kind of person that likes to share my personal life with others through email or letters. I prefer to call or visit the person. I feel as though this is a great tool for those that are not able to visit or call on a regular basis.
I enjoyed reading other blogs that were created by my colleagues. Some students even added graphics and pictures to personalize their blogs.
